It feels like a great time to welcome our new followers on Tumblr and give a sincere thank you to everyone that has been around and helped us become what we are. You also allowed us to do cool stuff like a Yetee Gallery art show as well as our 72Pins project which had its 1 year anniversary last weekend. Your likes, reblogs and support are really what has allowed us to keep this going and growing. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Some stats: When we launched it8bit, it only took us 5 days to pick up our first 1,000 followers which blew us away. On the 11th day, we hit the 2000 follower mark. A little over a month later and we hit the 5,000 follower milestone. We had only been around 4 months when we got into 5 digits. Over that first year we grew and grew and ended up averaging a new follower every 14 minutes. This is something that we cannot believe. It amazes us to this day.
There is a stat now that is really hard for us to believe. We currently average a new follower every minute! We aren’t talking about during a radar hit. That is the average day. That means that what we used to gain in over 4 months, now happens in less than a week. I’m not sure what to write here but I am sure that it would have a heck of a lot of !!!!!!!!!!!!!
So here we are not even 2 years in yet. A group of people on Tumblr who love retro video game stuff and creating neat things who got together and made a blog. It seems that our audience sees the world in pixels just like we do.
Starting soon we will be launching another project which we hope you will enjoy and support. We also hope that it will give us another way to support artists on Tumblr.
Thank you all,
